Doug Oss

Research Intern

Mr. Oss performs in-depth research on nonprofit organizations, supporting Excellence in Giving’s evaluation team. Doug is passionate about effective, high-impact giving and helping nonprofit leaders build organizational capacity. For nearly a decade, he served on active duty in the US Army as an Aviation Officer and Black Hawk pilot. His most recent role was as an Assault Helicopter Company Commander at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs. Doug’s professional and academic experience includes extensive foreign operations in Russia, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East.

Doug recently transitioned out of the military and is an MBA Candidate at Harvard Business School. He received his B.S. in International Relations and Russian Language from the United States Military Academy. Doug enjoys leatherworking, cooking, flying helicopters, and being a dad. He lives in Boston with his wife, Sarah, their son, Rye, and their Golden Retriever, Eli.
